Conference Connections
Conferences can be overwhelming, especially for graduate students! Come visit the North Central ACES student lounge to learn tips on how you can maximize your ACES conference experience. We will be sharing ideas on making the most out of the ACES conference including conference networking, starting your career search, and managing the stress of it all. We hope to see you there!

Graduate Student Lounge hosted by RMACES (Thursday, October 10th 2:00pm-3:30pm):
Get to know your RMACES Faculty and Universities
The RMACES Graduate Student Committee invites doctoral students from across ACES to an informal ‘roundtable style’ meet and greet with faculty from across the Rocky Mountain region. Students will have a chance to talk with faculty and ask them about the culture and environment of their universities, what it was like to transition to a new faculty position, what the interview process is typically like at their university, and anything else they would like to know.

Graduate Student Lounge hosted by SACES (Friday, October 11th 10:30am-12:00pm):
Surviving the Dissertation Process: It Is Possible!!
The SACES graduate student committee is holding a lounge for students and new professionals that focuses on tips and suggestions for getting through the dissertation process successfully. This lounge will offer a panel of counselor educators from several aspects of the dissertation process. Panelists will include the following areas: dissertation defense stage, new professional who has completed the dissertation process within the past six months, and professional who has completed the process within the past two years. Qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods methodologies will all be covered. Please join us for refreshments, panel discussion and fellowship!! We look forward to seeing you there!

Graduate Student Lounge hosted by WACES (Friday, October 11th 3:30pm-5:00pm):
Landing a Faculty Position: An Expert Panel Reveals What You Don't Know
This presentation will include a panel of faculty who will share their experiences of communicating with faculty applicants and will answer your questions about how to successfully communicate your strengths in a faculty interview. Mock interviews questions will also be presented, and your answers discussed!

Graduate Student Lounge hosted by NARACES (Saturday, October 12th 10:00am-11:30am):
Mentorship and Community Building
This session will provide a space for graduate students to share their experiences with mentorship and to learn about the benefits of successful mentorship. Presenters will share their personal stories and will provide recommendations for attendees. Our goal is to provide a space for community building as graduate students navigate the complexities of academia and the profession.
